Job Description
At Mercator Digital, we're in search of a highly skilled technical bid writer to join our team and help continue a tradition of unparalleled client, customer, and employee satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a track record of outstanding management of bid/procurement processes and bid writing.
As a bid writer you'll:
* Take a hands-on role in developing, writing, editing, and formatting high-quality winning bids, particularly at the early stages of framework submissions which tend to require case studies
* Gain a deep understanding of potential clients' needs, tender requirements, and business operations, and where their needs can be met by Mercator's work
* Work in a multi-disciplinary team in preparing written information on our experience, capabilities, and proposed project approach
* Ensure all proposals are proofread, meet tender programme requirements, and align with Mercator's bid management standards
* Identify and engage with expert contributors and associates as necessary to gather the necessary evidence for bids
* Present technical information in easy to understand ways
* Design, write, edit and submit bid documents
Bid Process/Management
* Manage bid submission process as necessary.
* Work with team members to determine bid writing strategies and manage bid timetables, deadlines, and necessary meetings effectively to ensure timely compelling submissions
* Build, maintain and improve our answer repository on an ongoing basi s, keeping accurate records and save material to a 'bid library' for future use
* Gather evidence to complete Pre Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ)
* Analyse and understand individual framework rules bid must adhere to
Essential skills and experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and meticulous proofreading skills
* A ble to use a computer and the main software packages competently
* Excellent time management skills and prioritisation of tasks amongst multiple deadlines
* Evidence of producing high standard written documents on a consistent and time sensitive basis
* Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and assimilate large volumes of information into comprehensive proposals
Desirable skills and experience
* Previous experience in a consultancy, procurement, writing or similar role, with a proven track record of writing high quality bids
* Previous experience or understanding of the public sector procurement process, including open competition tenders, frameworks, etc.
