Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, hands-on Warehouse Manager for Uniphar Group’s new state-of-the-art facility located in Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities, excellent supply chain experience, and a proven track record in warehouse operations management. This role oversees day-to-day operational planning, staffing, and lean warehouse process implementation to ensure efficiency, safety and scalability. The Warehouse Manager will optimise workflow, drive productivity, and deliver dedicated warehouse-as-a-service to all business units within the facility. The role sits within Uniphar Group’s Global Operations team and collaborates on key group strategic projects in the UK and globally.

Responsibilities and Duties
* Operations & Logistics
o Manage the day-to-day warehouse operations including logistics.
o Oversee inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring on-time performance for exports, imports, and domestic deliveries.
o Coordinate receiving, storage, inventory, order fulfilment, shipping processes, and labelling/packaging operations.
o Ensure accurate inventory management through regular audits and records.
o Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse with documented cleaning schedules.
o Adhere to preventative maintenance plans for facilities and plant equipment.
o Resolve issues related to damaged or missing inventory and shipment discrepancies.
o Ensure timely and accurate despatch of all orders.
o Monitor warehouse KPIs and report results to senior management.
o Optimise warehouse space utilisation to maximise efficiency and storage capacity.
o Ensure the facility delivers efficient services for all business units and meets performance targets.
o Oversee transport planning, ASN processes, and route optimisation.
o Support operational cost reductions through process improvement and vendor management.
o Assist in managing annual budgets (CapEx, transport, payroll, energy and facility costs).
o Monitor stock levels and maintain adequate warehouse supply.

o Recruit, train and manage a cross-functional team in daily warehouse and logistics operations.

* Health & Safety
o Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures and the organisation’s Safety Statement in line with UK and EU requirements.
o Conduct risk assessments and safety checks to identify and mitigate hazards.
o Maintain accurate incident records and produce reports for senior management.
o Stay current on Health & Safety legislation and developments affecting operations.
o Deliver training programs including Induction, Refresher, and Manual Handling.
o Coordinate external contractors to meet safety standards onsite.
* Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
o Identify gaps and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
o Optimise existing systems, improve reporting, and prepare for future growth.
o Support compliance with GDP, GMP, and other relevant regulations.
o Lead continuous improvement initiatives and enforce efficient flow of goods.
* Additional Responsibilities
o Act as the company representative during client and regulatory audits.
o Manage Hazmat compliance for regulated shipments.
o Address day-to-day facilities issues within budget and timelines.
o Serve as SME for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transport Management System (TMS) and other operational software.
* Key Skills & Experience
o Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
o 5–10 years in a similar role within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
o Strong understanding of GDP, GMP, and European quality standards.
o Proven leadership experience with multi-disciplined teams.
o Track record of driving operational excellence and managing complexity.
o Entrepreneurial mindset focused on innovation and process improvement.
Transition Period
There will be a transition period as the business relocates from London to Derbyshire, with some time required at the London depot to learn current procedures and support a smooth transition. You will assist in inventory transfer, systems migration, and readiness activities, including the physical move of stock, equipment and key assets while maintaining service continuity.
Working Style
Not a traditional 9-to-5 role; adaptability is required during the transition period. We offer a flexible, supportive environment designed to balance results with work-life integration.
