Head of Marketing - Applied Automation Group
Main Purpose of Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Divisional Manager to lead and grow our Marine and
Build to Print Division. This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the division’s
performance, encompassing strategy, business development, project delivery, quality, safety, and
team leadership.
You will be accountable for delivering sustainable growth, operational excellence, and customer
satisfaction in line with company objectives. This role is ideal for a commercially astute and technically
credible leader who thrives in a cross-functional, high-performance environment.
Role & Responsibilities -:

Strategic Leadership & Growth
Define and deliver the divisional strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
Drive business development activities in collaboration with Sales and Engineering.
Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to expand the division's footprint
Operational & Project Delivery
Oversee all projects within the division to ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-spec delivery.
Ensure adequate resourcing and capability across engineering, manufacturing, and support
functions.
Monitor and optimise key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, cost, and delivery.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, certifications, and customer
requirements.
Own the division’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance and governance.
Lead, inspire, and manage a multidisciplinary team including engineers, project managers,
and technical staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, development, and high performance.
Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and talent development.
Own the divisional P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Ensure commercial risk is managed appropriately through contracts, supply chain
engagement, and project oversight.
Work closely with Finance and Executive teams to report and improve financial
performance.
Requirements
Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience, ideally within the marine, defence, or
advanced manufacturing sectors.
Proven experience in a cross-functional engineering role with a broad technical remit.
Strong understanding of design for manufacture and build-to-print principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work across multiple projects and priorities.
Hands-on experience supporting test or production environments.
Familiarity with CAD tools, ERP systems, or configuration control processes.
