This is an exciting opportunity for a self‑motivated Research Governance professional who has previous experience of supporting research ethics review processes and is committed to ensuring that LSHTM researchers meet the highest standards of good practice in research and research ethics.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert support, advice and guidance to the institution for research ethics and develop an appreciation of the international contexts relevant to the research undertaken at the School.
* Work closely with the Chair and Co‑Chair of the institutional Research Ethics Committees both in London and with research ethics support roles in the MRC units in Uganda and the Gambia to ensure effective and efficient review of research in accordance with LSHTM standards and expectations.
* Collaborate with the Research Governance and Integrity Office, consisting of the Head of Governance and Integrity, a Clinical Trials and NHS research facilitator, and an Ethics facilitator.
Qualifications
* Hold a university science or medical degree, or equivalent experience.
* Experience of working in a research environment, either in academia, medicine or a pharmaceutical setting.
* Ability to critically understand health and social care research methodology.
The post is full‑time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed‑term until 02 July 2026, available from 03 January 2026.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 – £51,872 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part‑time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
