Senior Technical Design Manager
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 (DOE)

You will be a driving force behind the technical function on projects across residential, commercial, PBSA, Build‑to‑Rent (BTR), retail, light industrial, and food & beverage sectors. Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design function from concept through to completion working with Technical Team.
* Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to deliver practical, efficient, and commercially driven design solutions.
* Ensure strong commercial alignment throughout design development, balancing quality, cost, and buildability.
* Maintain compliance with building regulations, planning approvals, statutory requirements, and internal design standards.
* Manage and review drawings, specifications, and approvals processes.
* Identify and drive value engineering opportunities to support project performance and commercial outcomes.
* Ensure design pack is coordinated, buildable and free from errors to ensure smooth delivery.
* Act as the central point of contact for all design‑related queries across multiple live projects, including residential, PBSA, and BTR.
Ideal Candidate
* Background in architecture, engineering, technical management, or technical/draughting, ideally within a contractor or developer environment.
* Strong understanding of construction methodology, compliance, technical detailing, and design coordination.
* Commercially astute with the confidence to challenge design assumptions and protect project viability.
* Strong communicator capable of influencing and coordinating diverse project stakeholders.
* Skilled in relevant design software and technical document management systems.
