The role
As an Electrical Fitter, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team within our Shiplift Facility, playing a vital role in supporting the Royal Navy fleet. Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Completing planned preventative maintenance and nuclear-implicated work to meet operational goals
2. Identifying and resolving system defects to maintain Shiplift performance
3. Recommending improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
4. Working in accordance with health and safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work
5. Supporting other departments, including the Estate team, when required.
This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at HMNB Clyde, working Monday to Thursday, 07:15–16:45.
Essential experience of the Electrical Fitter:
6. Background in marine or industrial engineering with a focus on electrical maintenance
7. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions
8. Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and solving problems under pressure
9. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
10. Familiarity with maintenance procedures, COSHH, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work.
Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter:
11. Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3, NVQ, or City & Guilds equivalent)
OR
12. HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
