We are currently seeking a reliable and organised Storeman to support our busy catering team. In this vital support role, you will be responsible for receiving and checking deliveries, managing stock rotation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring storerooms and prep areas are clean, tidy, and well-organised. You'll work closely with the wider kitchen team to help ensure the smooth and efficient running of all food services. Job Description Key Responsibilities Receive, check, and sign for deliveries in line with food safety and company procedures Ensure all goods are stored safely, appropriately, and within proper temperature controls Manage stock rotation using FIFO principles to minimise waste and ensure freshness Keep accurate stock records and assist with stocktakes and inventory audits Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of all storage areas, including dry, chilled, and frozen stores Communicate any shortages, damages, or issues with deliveries to the Head Chef or Catering Manager Assist kitchen team with daily prep support and movement of goods as required Comply with all food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations Work collaboratively with the catering team to support smooth kitchen operations Carry out manual handling tasks and use equipment such as trolleys and pallet jacks safely Qualifications Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a stores, stockroom, or catering environment preferred Good understanding of food safety, storage, and temperature control standards Basic Food Hygiene and Manual Handling training (can be provided) Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and record-keeping skills Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving goods safely Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Willingness to learn and follow procedures Positive and proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment Additional Information Holroyd Howe is one of the UK's leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges.
