Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Commercial Property to join a highly respected firm in Harrogate. This is a rare opportunity to steady the ship, build on a strong flow of quality work, and ultimately progress to Board level. Who we’re looking for
* Commercial Property Solicitor, ideally 5–8 PQE
* Strong background in landlord & tenant matters, leases, and option agreements
* Broader experience across sales, purchases, refinancing and corporate support
* Proven ability to supervise and lead a team
* Track record in business development or client growth
* Approachable, with the gravitas to inspire confidence
What you’ll be doing
* Leading the Commercial Property department and ensuring stability in the first 12 months
* Supervising and supporting the existing assistant and paralegal within the team
* Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters, with an emphasis on landlord & tenant work, alongside sales, purchases and refinancing
* Working closely with clients across Harrogate, York and Leeds
* Driving business development and networking within the region
* Playing an active role on the management team, with a clear trajectory towards Board level
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: Up to £80,000 base, depending on experience
* Bonus: Profit share, typically c.10% of departmental profit above target
* Hours: Flexible, with the ability to bank additional hours worked and claim back up to a day each quarter
* Hybrid working: At least 3+ days in the Harrogate office, with travel to York and Leeds as needed
* Holiday: 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays, increasing with service, plus option to buy more
