Title: Project Manager
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum
Shift: Monday - Friday, Day Shift
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Our client, a leading global engineering organisation, is looking to appoint a permanent Project Manager. In this role, you will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to final delivery, ensuring clear planning, consistent oversight, and effective execution across the full lifecycle. You will coordinate internal teams and resources to deliver agreed scope on time and in line with customer expectations and strategic goals.
Using recognised project management methodologies and best-practice principles, you will support the effective management of budget, performance, and risk, helping to drive successful project outcomes.
The Project Manager Role:
* Lead and coordinate a cross-functional project team to deliver the agreed scope in alignment with the approved business case, operating within a clearly defined project lifecycle framework.
* Establish, document, and control project requirements and associated acceptance criteria, maintaining full visibility and traceability throughout the lifecycle.
* Deliver agreed milestones and key outputs to schedule, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions to avoid timeline slippage.
* Work collaboratively across functions to balance stakeholder priorities with project objectives, enabling practical and mutually beneficial solutions.
* Control and document scope changes, preparing supporting information for review and decision-making within the broader programme governance structure.
* Develop and manage cost profiles across the project lifecycle to support effective budgeting and financial forecasting.
* Monitor non-recurring expenditure against approved budgets, analysing variances and driving corrective measures where necessary.
* Build and maintain strong customer engagement, leading structured internal and external programme review sessions.
* Communicate project performance through clear, data-led reporting, escalating risks and critical issues at the appropriate governance levels.
* Encourage a high-performance team culture by promoting best-practice project management standards and recognising collective achievements
You’ll need:
* Prince 2 Qualification or equivalent
* Previous experience of project management within an engineering or aerospace environment
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence, lead and motivate a team(s)
* Experience of leading NPI projects
* Engineering or Scientific qualification(s) would be advantageous
* Adopts a methodical and highly organised approach to ensure project milestones are achieved
* Able to present to internal and external teams
* Proficient in Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Analytical skills with the ability to identify areas for operation improvement, addressing problem areas and providing viable solutions
