Senior Contracts Manager – SSE plc
Location: Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Base Salary: £58,100-£87,100 (subject to experience) + performance-related bonus.
Working Pattern: Permanent, Full Time, Flexible – first options available.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to join SSE Renewables’ Procurement & Commercial team, supporting the delivery of offshore wind projects. The role requires pre‑ and post‑contract experience managing high‑value agreements, preferably within renewables or a similar sector.
Responsibilities
* Support development and implementation of procurement strategies for renewable projects, ensuring alignment with SSE’s priorities.
* Provide procurement and commercial support to project teams, resolving challenges to enable successful outcomes.
* Build and maintain productive supplier relationships, encouraging collaboration, accountability and alignment with project needs.
* Monitor supplier performance and address concerns proactively.
* Support contract negotiations and manage day‑to‑day contractual obligations, compliance and risk considerations.
* Identify and address procurement and commercial risks in line with governance and regulatory requirements.
* Identify opportunities for cost improvements and value enhancement within procurement and commercial activities.
* Support procurement governance, ensuring processes meet SSE’s integrity, transparency and compliance standards.
Qualifications
* Understanding of renewable markets, including development, construction and support contracts, as well as critical commodities and services.
* Experience in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, and managing costs and budgets effectively.
* Qualification: Quantity Surveying Degree, Procurement qualification or equivalent, preferred.
* Previous experience in a similar role, managing procurement processes, contracts, suppliers and subcontractors.
* Strong knowledge of supplier vetting, development and management, and familiarity with contract conditions such as NEC and Logic.
* Experience with complex electrical structures across renewables is desirable.
