Job Title: Graduate Operations Manager
As a Graduate Operations Manager, you will be responsible for learning how to lead the operational and financial performance of the contract, delivering work safely, on time, and meeting key customer expectations. You will be a key member of the contract succession plan, learning from existing Operations Managers across different functions with the aspiration to lead in the future.
Key Responsibilities
You will work alongside existing Operations Managers to develop skills in the following areas:
* Maintaining contract compliance with the dig crews, including chairing daily compliance meetings and re-implementing the team dashboard to measure productivity, compliance, and safety metrics.
* Managing the BW Contract fleet, plant, and logistics, ensuring proper allocation and regular audits.
* Leading depot operations, maintaining H&S compliance, inductions, and delivery procedures.
* Supporting the Logistics Manager in stocking consumable items, including emergency OOH stock.
* Establishing a dedicated training and induction facility within the yard.
* Becoming an expert in company and contract induction processes.
* Managing daily jeopardy exercises to optimize dig crew efficiency and project timelines.
* Gaining understanding of reinstatement types and planning works for backfill, reinstatement, and site clearance activities.
* Developing a basic understanding of street works legislation, including NRSWA, Section 74 compliance, defects, and permit challenges.
* Engaging with the engineering aspects of highways reinstatement and coaching internal teams.
Experience and Qualifications
* Recent graduate in a relevant field.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
