* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
* Assist the teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
* Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.
* Use positive behaviour support strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
* Support the pupil in developing communication and social interaction skills, both in and out of the classroom.
* Liaise regularly with parents, teachers, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support.
* Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and interventions.
* Assist with personal care if required, and ensure the pupil’s safety and well-being at all times
Experience:
* Experience working 1:1 or supporting young people with Autism
Skills:
* Strong communication skills, including active listening and non verbal communication
* Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing needs and classroom dynamics
* Understanding of AUtism Spectrum Conditions and relevant support strategies
* Creativity in delivering engaging and accesible learning activities
* Team work and collaboration with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
* Good organisation skills to manage resources, schedules and documentation
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Educational requirements:
* A relevant qualification such as: Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching, Level 3 Dipolma in Childcare and Education
* Additional training in Autism awareness, positive behaviour support or safeguarding is highly desireable
