Summary:
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Advisor serves as a liaison between customers and technicians. Responsibilities include providing excellent communication, customer service, scheduling repairs, assigning work, preparing and billing repair orders, entering work orders into the computer system, and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Communicate with customers over the phone and in person to gather relevant contact and repair information.
2. Accurately document vehicle problems on Express Write-up, verify customer information, obtain signatures, establish payment methods, and secure credit approval if necessary.
3. Notify the Assistant Service Manager of incoming work and repair order status.
4. Advise customers on necessary repairs, including cost estimates.
5. Monitor repair progress throughout the day, communicate any changes to customers, explain costs and timelines, and obtain authorization for additional repairs.
6. Review repair orders to ensure completion and note any additional work and authorizations.
7. Close service orders for accuracy and completeness.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Experience in Truck Service preferred.
* Experience with Procede or other Heavy-Duty Truck DMS preferred.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
* AA degree, technical school degree, or at least 1 year of related experience preferred.
* Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Repair Order Processing.
