About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with SEN in a welcoming and supportive Blackburn primary school. The role involves working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to support the child's learning, development, and well-being throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
* Assist with personalised learning plans and activities
* Support the child's emotional and social development
* Monitor and record progress, communicating regularly with teaching staff and parents/carers
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment
Requirements
* Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
* A patient, caring, and resilient attitude
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
