This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each service user to develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge. You will have the support of an Occupational Therapy team and work closely with other therapists from different disciplines, including nurses, psychologists, psychology assistants, occupational therapists, social workers, speech and language therapists, and psychiatrists as well as 24/7 support from the nursing team. You will receive regular clinical supervision from an experienced Occupational Therapist on-site, including weekly 1:1 check in's. Summary of the site Located in Kings Norton, Birmingham, Cygnet Wast Hills provides support for 21 individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. The team can also support individuals who may be detained under the Mental Health Act, as well as those who have complex behaviours, or who have significant difficulties with social engagement. The service has an array of facilities, all of which provide a low stimulus environment for individuals who may be experiencing heightened feelings of agitation, including many good sized living areas for service users to choose from, sensory rooms, activity rooms and 3 activity of daily living (ADL) kitchens where individuals are supported to make their own drinks and prepare food. With six acres of gardens, Cygnet Wast Hills has an abundance of external space to take part in outdoor activities or to sit and relax and take in the beautiful surroundings, some of the flats also have their own private garden. The highly experienced team work together with service users to provide a holistic, person-centred, comprehensive assessment and care and treatment plan. We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team to support recovery and rehabilitation activities in the integrated care pathway at Cygnet. Occupational Therapy Directorate Every service line has a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to guide and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway for each specific client group. This includes Cygnet developed guidelines and assessments. Each Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist hosts service line meetings regularly, in which you will link in with other Occupational Therapists in the company based in the same service line, providing a valuable networking and development opportunity.
