🔧 About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver upgrades and modifications to Transmission substation protection & control systems, working directly on National Grid and wider UK Transmission & Distribution projects.
You will manage multiple engineering projects ranging from £50k to £2m, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction. This hybrid role requires regular attendance at our Staffordshire office and occasional travel to customer sites.
⭐ Key Responsibilities
* Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Transmission & Distribution engineering projects
* Manage budgets, schedules, risks and commercial performance
* Oversee subcontractors and multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
* Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety requirements
* Hold progress meetings with clients and stakeholders
* Support bids, proposals and future business development
* Build strong customer relationships through excellent delivery
🎓 Required Skills & Experience
* Strong engineering background (electrical, power systems or similar)
* Proven project management experience in Transmission, Distribution or similar regulated engineering sectors
* NEC3/NEC4 contract experience is essential
* Skilled in planning and scheduling using Microsoft Project
* Commercially astute with strong risk management capability
* Experience managing subcontractors and engineering teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Must live within a commutable distance of Staffordshire

* Experience with project proposals and bid work
* APM Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification
* Knowledge of protection & control systems or substation automation
