We are currently seeking a Transport Planner, to work for a well-established Transport and Warehousing solutions provider, with over 30 depots, throughout the UK.
The Transport Planner is a key member of the team, primarily responsible for the smooth running of the delivery and collection vehicles.
Role Responsibilities:
Experience in planning and routing haulage and pallet network freight on Artic and Rigid vehicles
Establishing customer requirements and arranging collections and deliveries, within stated timescale
Routing vehicles efficiently both from a time management point of view and also minimise distance travelled, with regard to weight and size of the vehicle
Work using traffic management systems and prioritising freight to meet customer needs and the commercial needs of the company. Searching online platforms for loads as required
De-brief drivers, manage and monitor their performance escalating any infringements or performance issues to management and HR department
Ensure all work is carried out with due regard for the health & safety of customers, employees and visitors
Report any accidents, incidents and issues to management immediately
Support the company in making sure all licence checks are kept up to date, that the WTD is adhered to, and that drivers have completed the training necessary for their driver DQC
Monitor defect reporting and liaise with the workshop
Liaise with customers and suppliers, negotiating prices as necessary
Support accounts and customer service teams to ensure that jobs can be invoiced promptly by making sure they are in a timely manner
All queries or complaints should be dealt with promptly to ensure our customers get the best possible experience when dealing with Tooles Transport
Excellent IT skills and experience in TMS/routing programmes
CPC and or experience in driver/vehicle compliance
Role Requirements:
Minimum of 1 years' experience in transport planning, pallet distribution and/or general haulage planning.
Class 1 licence and FLT licence would be beneficial, but not essential.
Previous experience of transport systems - Pallet Networks/Qargo/Stirling
Transport MCPCQ National/International would be useful, along with driver/vehicle compliance
Working Hours:
Full time, permanent
Rotating AM/PM shifts 8-6pm, 11-9pm
Saturday AMs only 1 in 2 Salary:
Salary between £35,000 - £42,000 dependent upon experience Benefits:
