Role:
Managing a team of building safety/compliance colleagues to plan, monitor, and control property compliance and building safety across the business, including statutory and non-statutory compliance such as Fire, Legionella, Asbestos, Gas, Electrics & Lifts, within budget and quality standards.
Overview of the role:
* Ensure Redbridge complies with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Order 2005 (and amendments), conducting risk assessments, creating Safety Case Reports, and managing information sharing and reporting processes.
* Manage statutory and non-statutory compliance for all contractors across areas like Fire, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Gas, Electrical, and Lifts.
* Lead and promote a safety-first culture within the Directorate.
* Manage a team of Compliance Workstream Managers and Coordinators.
* Manage an annual budget of approximately £7 million.
* Lead resident engagement on building safety, ensuring tenant and leaseholder involvement.
* Respond to government initiatives related to fire safety and compliance.
* Develop and implement risk management strategies for Building Safety and Compliance.
About You
* Substantial experience in Compliance, Building Safety, or M&E health and safety in property-related environments.
* Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, MCIOB, Fire Engineering, or similar.
* Experience managing outsourced services and contracts.
* Ability to monitor and ensure compliance and safety standards.
* Proven ability to foster a customer-focused culture and promote safety across teams.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience managing budgets and information systems.
