You will craft technical narratives, translate technical benefits, and connect deeply with engineering audiences.
A day in the life of our Product Marketing Manager – Procurement Focus
Define and communicate the value of Octopart’s solutions for procurement teams, supply chain managers, and sourcing professionals. Collaborate across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure the platform addresses real procurement challenges and is positioned for maximum impact in supply chain decision‑making.
Procurement‑Focused Storytelling & Narrative Development
* Craft compelling narratives that translate complex supply‑chain capabilities into procurement value tailored to CPOs, procurement managers, component buyers, and supply‑chain analysts.
* Define messaging around component sourcing efficiency, supplier risk mitigation, inventory optimization, and supply‑chain visibility.
* Lead creation of procurement‑specific content such as supplier presentations, component sourcing guides, supply‑chain risk assessments, procurement ROI calculators, and competitive battlecards versus sourcing platforms.
* Partner with Brand and Content teams to deliver campaigns targeting electronics procurement conferences, supply‑chain events, and component sourcing trade shows.
Product Influence & Procurement Roadmap Alignment
* Act as the voice of procurement professionals, bringing insights on component availability, pricing trends, supplier consolidation, and sourcing challenges into product development.
* Work closely with Product Management to influence priorities based on procurement workflow optimization, supplier management needs, and inventory planning requirements.
* Define use‑case‑driven value propositions for BOM management, component lifecycle tracking, supply‑chain risk assessment, and procurement cost optimization.
Cross‑Functional Leadership in Supply Chain Marketing
* Collaborate with Sales Enablement to develop materials for procurement teams (sourcing playbooks, supplier evaluation frameworks, component selection guides, TCO calculators).
* Support procurement customer and supplier partner engagements, including early access programs for sourcing tools, supplier advisory boards, and component sourcing events.
* Represent procurement marketing in internal planning discussions focused on supply‑chain strategy and procurement market opportunities.
Qualifications
* 4+years in B2B product marketing with 2+years focused on procurement, supply‑chain, or sourcing solutions, preferably in electronics, semiconductors, or component sourcing industries.
* Deep understanding of electronics procurement challenges: component sourcing, supplier management, inventory optimization, and supply‑chain risk mitigation.
* Proven experience driving product narratives for procurement professionals, supply‑chain managers, and sourcing teams.
* Strong background in supply‑chain marketing, procurement strategy, or component sourcing operations.
* Experience with electronics component markets, distributor relationships, and supplier ecosystem dynamics.
* Knowledge of procurement software, sourcing platforms, supplier management systems, and inventory planning tools.
* Understanding of electronics supply‑chain disruptions, component lifecycle management, and procurement cost optimization strategies.
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or Procurement; advanced degrees, MBA, or CIPS/ISM certifications are a plus.
Preferred Experience
* Background in electronics component distribution, component manufacturers, supplier chain management, or procurement operations.
* Experience marketing to CPOs, procurement managers, supply‑chain directors, and component buyers.
* Knowledge of Octopart, component search platforms, or electronics sourcing tools.
* Understanding of procurement analytics, spend analysis, and supplier performance metrics.
