Description Library Services Assistant Fixed Term Contract/Secondment Grade 2 - £24,796 - £26,824 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 10.67 hours per week Fantastic opportunity to work as part of the Library of Birmingham's LoB Express Team delivering a first class, customer focussed service in a busy and demanding public library environment. You will work as part of the Library of Birmingham's LoB Express Team in the main reception. Weekday working which could be 9-11am, 7-9pm or 5-9pm. It can be a mixture of working some mornings and evenings. Monday 6.30pm-9pm Wednesday 9-11am Thurs 9-11am Friday 5-9pm but may vary according to business need. The role provides an essential service outside of Library core hours delivering a range of library services to the public including: dealing with face to face customer enquiries, accessing customer accounts, Meet & Greet, joining new members, directing customers to use self- service facilities such as printers and kiosks for computer bookings and borrowing and returning books, cash handling, using a card payment machine, carrying out Stock Flow which includes the emptying of book bins, sorting books and fetching reservations for customers, liaising with partner organisations in the building, Health & Safety awareness and co-operating with Security staff in the event of evacuations.
