Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Start Date: ASAP / February Start Available
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Pay: £90 – £115 per day
GSL Education are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide supply cover across Newcastle and the surrounding areas, including mainstream secondary schools and specialist SEN provisions.
About the Role:
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils in mainstream and SEN settings, including 1:1, small group, and whole-class support.
* Assist teaching staff with classroom management, learning activities, and pupil engagement.
* Deliver targeted support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, and other learning differences.
* Help implement lesson plans and intervention strategies under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCo.
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health, and safety at all times.
About the Schools:
You will be working across a range of schools in Newcastle, including:
* Mainstream secondary schools, where you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education across all curriculum areas.
* Specialist SEN provisions, catering to pupils aged 11–16 with complex needs, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Person Specification:
We are looking for candidates who are:
* Experienced in working in a school environment or with children/young people.
* Confident supporting pupils with special educational needs.
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to work across different schools and settings.
* Professional, reliable, and committed to promoting positive outcomes for pupils.
