Morrison Water Services part of the M Group Services Water Division are the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK. Morrison Water Services are proud to be a key partner on the Caledonia Water Alliance. And will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water to jointly deliver SR21, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland capital investment programme. Due to ongoing growth, we have exciting opportunities for experienced Lead Estimator to join our growing Water division!!
Caledonia Water (CWA) is a joint venture alliance between Aecom and Morrison Water Services (MWS), supporting the delivery of Scottish water’s SR21 Capital Investment Programme.
We are responsible for the delivery of a pan Scotland £700M water and wastewater infrastructure programme over a 6-year alliance framework.

As theEstimating Manager you will be part of our Operations Team who are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our water infrastructure and civil engineering projects .

As the Estimating Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. To provide estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and governance
2. To assist and advise the Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids
3. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates/cost data
4. To ensure where possible supplier/subcontractor terms are back-to-back with the client requirements and if not to impact assess any deviations
5. Responsible for prioritising workload and supporting the team to produce results in a timely manner to meet business needs
6. Day to day liaison with, and influencing of, key stakeholders, such as customers and operational colleagues
7. To develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance
8. Provide post award support to the Ops and Commercial teams, ensuring tender model and pricing is understood
9. Travelling to sites to ascertain scope of works as & when required
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
10. Experience within the water industry is essential, preferably within both water and wastewater, infra and non-infra environments, but also advantageous to have other utility estimating experience
11. Preferably experience of delivering water and/or wastewater projects
12. Effective communication and negotiating skills
13. Excellent people management skills
14. Ability and desire to identify opportunities and influence change
15. Ability to react to constant workloads and delegate accordingly
16. Commercial and contractual knowledge and understanding of various forms of NEC Contracts (Options A to E)
17. Able to follow process and governance
18. Able to present and use planning and visual software applications
19. Knowledge of estimating tools and techniques
20. Knowledge of estimating software packages such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy etc
Qualifications:
Preferably degree qualified in engineering, Quantity Surveying, cost & planning or similar, but industry experience will also be considered
