The role You'll provide consistent, overnight support in a small residential setting for young adults (typically 1621) moving toward independent living. You'll keep the home safe, respond to needs throughout the night, complete key routines and records, and hand over clearly to day staff. Strong communication, calm decision-making, and professional boundaries are essential in sometimes challenging situations. What you'll do Provide attentive, waking-night supervision: welfare checks, settling support, and responsive care throughout the night. Maintain a safe environment: follow house routines, security checks, lone working and incident reporting procedures. Build positive, professional relationships and model independence skills (sleep hygiene, routines, next-day planning). Manage risk and de-escalate behaviors using agreed strategies / PBS; record incidents factually and promptly. Complete night-time tasks: logs, care notes, medication checks/records as trained, and light domestic duties to prepare the home for morning. Safeguard young people at all times and escalate concerns in line with policy and the law. Work as part of a multi-agency team and give a clear, concise handover to daily staff What you'll bring Experience in residential/supported living, youth services or similar, ideally with young people 1621 or care leavers. (Children's or adults' services experience considered.)
