Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. Duties
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all workstations are tidy and compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Support the team in food production, including chopping, marinating, and plating dishes.
* Collaborate with chefs to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
* Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
* Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues.
Experience
* Previous kitchen experience is essential, ideally within a restaurant setting.
* A background in food production or culinary arts is highly advantageous.
* Supervising experience or team management skills will be considered a plus.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is required.
