A forward-thinking and well-resourced secondary school in Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join their thriving DT department. This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about practical learning and creativity. About the Role As a DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially KS5, inspiring students in practical design, manufacturing, and problem-solving skills. You will plan lessons that encourage creativity, technical understanding, and innovation, while catering to students of varying abilities. The role involves preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, supporting design projects, promoting safe workshop practices, and contributing to enrichment activities such as competitions and clubs. Key Responsibilities • Teach Design & Technology across KS3/4 (KS5 optional) • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that are engaging, practical, and safe • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations in DT • Promote student creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Support workshops, machinery, and practical lesson setups • Assess, monitor, and track student progress and attainment • Contribute to departmental development, enrichment programmes, and extracurricular clubs About the School This Cambridge secondary school is recognised for academic excellence, a collaborative teaching culture, and well-equipped practical facilities.
