Your Role as Deputy Manager (Learning Disability Children’s Homes)
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the leadership of the home, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can succeed.
You will support the Registered Manager with service setup, including Ofsted registration, recruitment, and embedding a strong, child-centred culture from the outset.
You will work within a well-established support network including HR, QA, Psychology, Education, IT, Finance, and experienced peers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing environment
* Assist in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance and high-quality care
* Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including supervision and rota management
* Promote a strong child-centred culture and consistent care standards
* Support recruitment, training, and ongoing team development
* Assist with Ofsted registration, service mobilisation, and building a new team culture
* Deputise for the Registered Manager and provide leadership across shifts
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to advocate for young people and drive exceptional outcomes
Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to achieve within 2 years)
* Experience within residential or social care settings
* Knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and complex needs
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, including deputising when required
* Confident in multi-agency working and advocating for young people
* Compassionate, resilient, and values-driven with an aspirational approach to outcomes
