<div><h3>Access Officer</h3><p><b>Application Deadline:</b> 22 June 2026</p><p><b>Department:</b> Academic Office</p><p><b>Employment Type:</b> Full Time</p><p><b>Location:</b> Oxford</p><p><b>Compensation:</b>£32,108 - £37,338 / year</p><h3>Description</h3><p>The post-holder will play a key role in helping to conduct the College’s Access work in a timely and efficient manner. This will include direct support for the Access Fellow and Admissions Officer, dealing with and progressing a wide range of matters in these areas. Please refer to the job Description and Further Particulars for further details.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of access work including creation and management of policies related to this work</li><li>Coordinate Access events (eg Summer Coordinate outreach programmes, Seren Hub events, school visits to and from College, HE Fairs)</li><li>Coordinate Open Days</li><li>Deliver access and outreach events</li><li>Manage a portfolio of smaller Access & Outreach projects</li><li>Manage the Student Ambassador (SA) Scheme</li><li>Be a key member of the Oxford Cymru consortium</li><li>Assist, as required, the Admissions Officer with Undergraduate Admissions administration</li><li>Processing data</li><li>Other appropriate tasks as requested by your line manager or Senior College Officers</li></ul><h3>Skills, knowledge & expertise</h3><h3>Essential criteria</h3><ul><li>Educated to degree level or equivalent experience</li><li>Evidence of excellent inter-personal skills (including the ability to show diplomacy and understanding in dealing with students, parents, and teachers) and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds</li><li>Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills</li><li>Evidence of a high level of personal organisation and ability to prioritise and multi-task</li><li>Evidence of high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Evidence of excellent and up-to-date IT skills, with a good knowledge of MS Office; in particular, good Excel skills are important</li><li>Evidence of an ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines</li><li>Evidence of an ability to work both independently and as a team member</li><li>Evidence of excellent problem-solving skills</li><li>Evidence of an ability to know when to use initiative and when to seek advice</li><li>Evidence of experience using websites and social media in a work context to communicate news and promote events.</li></ul><h3>Desirable criteria</h3><ul><li>Experience of academic administration, including database systems, and/or a customer-service environment</li><li>Experience of making presentations to a wide audience</li><li>Knowledge or experience of Oxford University or its colleges, particularly involving contact with students and prospective applicants</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><p>As well as becoming a valued member of our friendly community, and working in beautiful historic surroundings, we also offer the following benefits:</p><ul><li><b>Meals</b> - A free meal is available when on duty and the kitchen is open.</li><li><b>Holiday</b> - A generous annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (pro rata for part time posts), which includes all Bank and Public holidays.</li><li><b>Pension</b> - On joining the College you will be automatically enrolled into either the Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (“OSPS”) or University Superannuation Scheme, (“USS”) as applicable.</li><li><b>Employee Assistance Programme</b> - 24/7 access for you and your spouse/partner to a broad spectrum of services, including Health Management, Online and Face-to-Face Counselling, and Debt Management.
