Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world Wood is currently looking for a Lead Instrument Commissioning Technician to join our System Integration (SI) team within out Digital Consulting business supporting across our UK projects. This is a hybrid role into the Aberdeen office, with an expectation that during outage it will be full time at the Kirriemuir site. The position can be on either a staff or contract basis. Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. LI-Hybrid The Role The Lead Instrument Commissioning Technician will support in safe execution of the instrument commissioning work scope in accordance with contract requirements, specifications and schedule. The selected individual will ensure applicable HSSE and Quality practices are implemented & followed and where applicable permits in place and associated toolbox talks etc are completed prior to commencement of work activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Instrument tech who possess good organisational skills and the ability to plan for safe work scope execution ensuring all applicable components associated with tasks are in place (e.g. procedures, permits, tools and equipment etc). Do not operate any item of plant or equipment that has become defective Report any work-related personal injury or disease to your immediate supervisor and ensure that an entry is made in the accident book at your place of work Organise work to be carried out in accordance with relevant HSSE risk assessments / method statements / work instructions / procedures Monitor personnel under your control to ensure they comply with their individual responsibilities in HSSE matters Ensure that all relevant personnel are involved in HSSE risk assessments prior to any work activity commencing and, where appropriate, that method statements are available, understood and that any identified control measures are implemented Monitor that risk assessments / method statements accurately reflect the HSSE hazards present and ensure that any required changes are agreed and implemented in accordance with the arrangements for control of changes to planned methods of work Ensure that personal protective clothing and equipment is used where identified as required and is properly maintained and stored Qualifications What Makes you Remarkable? Expected: Proven experience in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering and/or recognised Instrumentation trade apprenticeship/trade background is required Demonstrable experience in a Senior / Lead Instrumentation Commissioning Technician (or similar role), with a proven background of delivery within associated industry Thorough understanding of the principles of Instrumentation systems including installation, testing, static commissioning/commissioning and general O&M of Instrumentation equipment and components Good with CompEx & MS Office tools PTW Understanding & Familiarization (SCO91 Training provided) Conversant with GoCompletions / Hub2 completions management software (or equivalent) Experienced in the supervision of personnel and team working with demonstrable experience in the daily management of workforce in safe execution of commissioning activities, including preparation Excellent knowledge of HSSE and Quality working practices / procedures Able to demonstrate the core behaviours and attributes expected of a lead as defined and confirmed during the Company contractor engagement process Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly (in both spoken and written means)
