Cyber Security Cloud Engineer

The Cyber Security Cloud Engineer is responsible for securing, monitoring, and optimising Ocean Infinity's global cloud estate. This is a highly technical, hands‑on role focused on designing and implementing security controls, strengthening visibility across Azure and SaaS platforms, and reducing risk in an increasingly distributed cloud environment.

You will combine deep cloud-security expertise with practical collaboration across teams to ensure that our cloud services, integrations, and workflows operate securely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

* Architect, design, and maintain secure Azure environments across regions and subscriptions.
* Lead identity, access, and governance practices using Entra ID / Azure AD and related tooling.
* Extend consistent security governance and monitoring across Azure, SaaS, and third‑party cloud platforms.
* Implement and manage advanced threat detection, cloud logging, and incident response capabilities.
* Perform risk assessments and manage vulnerabilities across cloud services, integrations, and hybrid systems.
* Work with IT, DevOps, and application teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
* Optimise cloud configurations for both security posture and cost efficiency, supporting FinOps principles.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud security issues across corporate and third‑party systems (e.g., NetSuite, SolidWorks PDM).
* Ensure compliance with data protection and security frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
* Develop and maintain cloud security standards, policies, and governance documentation.
* Mentor and support Cyber Security team members to uplift cloud‑security capability across the organisation.

Who You Are

* 5+ years experience in cloud or cyber security engineering, with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and SaaS environments.
* Strong understanding of cloud architecture, governance, identity management, and integration security.
* Skilled with security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, CSPM, or CWPP platforms.
* Experience working in hybrid or multi‑cloud environments, including securing third‑party and "shadow IT" services.
* Able to lead incident response activities and conduct root‑cause analysis for cloud‑based events.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to balance detail with overall risk context.
* Effective communicator who can translate complex security concepts for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Independent, organised, and comfortable collaborating across globally distributed teams.
* Fully capable of facing the dragon of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint and documenting what we do.
* Willing to travel up to 25% globally.

Desirable Skills

* Naturally curious.
* Certifications such as AZ‑500, CCSP, CISSP, or CISM.
* Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates).
* Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
* Exposure to securing industrial or maritime systems and operational technologies.
* Understanding of FinOps and experience balancing security with cost optimisation.

Why This Role Matters

As Ocean Infinity expands its digital and autonomous operations, our cloud environment is growing rapidly across multiple platforms and teams. The Cyber Security Cloud Engineer ensures this growth remains secure, visible, and compliant by embedding security into every layer of our cloud stack.

Your work directly protects critical data, safeguards operational integrity, and strengthens trust in Ocean Infinity's ability to operate safely, reliably, and at scale.

Salary

The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
