Role Overview
As the Head of Delivery you will drive the transformation of ScottishPower’s property portfolio, steering large‑scale investment projects from conception to completion, ensuring robust governance, quality control, safety, and delivery on time, within budget and aligned with strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
* Accountable lead for devising the UK Capex projects and Building Surveying Initiatives strategy and business plan ensuring alignment with asset/site wide activities and strategies (including sustainability and IBEs NZC trajectory). includes working cross‑functions with the Head of Operations, Head of Future Programmes, Head of Asset Management and their teams to develop an annual capital budgets pipeline register and phased execution plan for business sign off
* Accountable lead for the overall delivery of all Capex projects and Building Surveying Initiatives budget and phased project and programme milestones (multi projects)
* Ensure compliance with IBE policies and guidance (including CDM and/or IOSH as applicable) promoting a Safety First approach to delivering successful Capex projects
* Oversee the planning design and construction of capital projects to ensure they meet the organizations strategic objectives budget and timeline.
* Develop and manage project budgets including cost estimates funding allocations and financial reporting
* Coordinate with architects engineers contractors and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met and to resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
* In collaboration with the Operations Director, Head of Future Programmes, Head of Asset Management and the Head of Operations provide construction and procurement advice and strategy across the programme of works and is responsible for selection relationship management and contract administration of contractor/consultant and site‑wide suppliers monitoring performance management and reporting their performance and compliance
* Accountable lead for the Capex and Building Surveying PMOs ensuring the mission of the PMO is followed and the digital platform has all key Stakeholders reporting through it with adequate assurance governance and controls to ensure coordinated delivery and predictable outcomes and effective coordination between interventions and disciplines within the team.
* Ownership development and management of best in class delivery and resourcing models (to include appropriate quantity and calibre of internal and external project managers and external Tier 1 contractors adeptly navigating supply chain procurement and tenders in line with IBEs policies and frameworks)
* Demonstrate best in class safety first leadership and ensure the implementation of site wide H&S strategy setting the performance measures and accountable for the desired performance outcomes. Empowered to stop unsafe practices at site during regular site inspections.
* Prepare regular reports and attend Project Control Group Development Pipeline and Quarterly Business Report meetings.
* In collaboration with the Head of Operations, Head of Asset Management and Head of Future Programmes accountable lead to drive and deliver IBEs sustainability objectives (including net zero carbon) through the capital projects business plan pipeline and delivery.
* In coordination with the Operations Director, Head of Operations, Head of Asset Management and Head of Future Programmes assume accountability for implementing the commissioning and hand over strategy into and out of delivery of Capex Projects and Building Surveying Initiatives
* Accountable lead to own and implement the risk management strategy across all strategic programme and project based activity ensuring robust supply chain assurance is in place. Proactively manage programme and operational risk (incl.H&S) and ensure that timely action is taken incl. escalation when required
* Robust performance management holding internal and external team members to account on delivery of vision/project with agility empowerment delegation drive innovation and customer focus.
* Run project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress challenges and changes to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
* Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes identify lessons learned and integrate findings into future project planning processes to continuously improve project management practices.
* Prepare and submit annual Budget/CAPEX Investment Programmes and update on Quarterly Basis as required.
* Manage and oversee development of technical specifications for GSUK Commercial Contract team to engage Procurement for the tendering of contract services
* Develop and deliver progress reports proposals requirements documentation and presentations
* Proactively manage changes in project scope identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
* Conduct project lessons learned activities and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
* Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
* Team Management: Youll guide a high-performing team. Your ability to inspire motivate and drive results will be crucial in achieving exceptional asset management outcomes.
What you’ll bring
* Proven track record at senior level of leading multiple mixed‑use fit‑out repurposing new build projects and Building Surveying Initiatives including office and depot.
* Track record of driving projects simultaneously from creating a vision initial strategy & feasibility through to delivery & operations of large‑scale mixed‑use developments and building associated partnerships
* Significant post qualification experience RICS or APM qualified within a project management CIOB and/or building surveying background
* Extensive knowledge of project planning implementation and management utilising recognised project management principles and methodology
* Educated to degree level or equivalent with at least 15 years work experience / Project or Programme Management qualification
* Design technically experienced in reviewing and challenging design teams ensuring innovative solutions and value is created within projects
* Demonstrable experience in leading a PMO having been responsible for overseeing the PMO and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
* Proven experience of leading the delivery of exceptional sustainability initiatives
* Excellent ability to negotiate influence and build strong relationships internally and externally (including matrix reporting)
* Experienced in C‑Level reporting focusing on the essential business KPIs necessary for them to make future decisions
* Attend and also Chair various meetings crucial for team cohesion project advancement and decision‑making
* Lead motivate communicate with develop appraise and performance manage teams ensuring that they are fully‑motivated to achieve best performance to meet the needs of IBE business
* Experience of leading and implementing a risk management strategy and supply chain assurance programme

* Membership of a PM professional body
