ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Junior Packaging Designer will support the Design team in creating high-quality packaging aligned with the ghd premium brand guidelines. Based in ghd’s London Design Studio, this entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience working across packaging design projects while learning from senior designers and collaborating with Marketing, Quality, and Procurement teams.
LOCATION
This role will be based in our London (Soho) office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Support:
* Assist with concept design for both graphic and basic structural packaging
* Support artwork development through to production‑ready files under guidance
* Help design packaging for the core brand range, limited editions, and Wetline products
* Create visuals, mock‑ups, and presentations for internal reviews
* Support the CMF and Gifting accessories development under guidance.
* Support art working updates and amends based on feedback
Production & Supplier Support:
* Assist in preparing specifications and artwork for suppliers (packaging, CMF, gifting accessories)
* Support the sampling and artwork approval process (packaging, CMF, gifting accessories)
* Help manage files and design documentation
* Learn to work within technical and production constraints
Continuous Improvement & Sustainability:
* Support sustainability initiatives by researching materials and processes
* Assist with cost optimisation tasks alongside Procurement and Finance
Workflow & Collaboration:
* Support packaging and Limited Edition projects from brief through the design and studio teams
* Work closely with senior designers and cross‑functional teams
* Provide design support for ad‑hoc PR packaging and launch materials
REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or similar
* Strong interest in packaging, branding, and graphic design
* Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
* Ability to communicate ideas through sketches and visuals
* Good attention to detail and willingness to learn technical processes
* Organised, enthusiastic, and able to take feedback positively
* Keyshot or basic 3D skills advantageous but not essential
