The platform provides an open and accessible, end-to-end health and protection insurance administration system; fully hosted and managed on. is an extensive platform consisting of the back-office automation, the API and integration suite and the solutions serving customers and all parties in the insurance value chain.
Working as part of a joint company/client team, this client facing role will be predominantly home based but with occasional travel to client sites in the UK and overseas and to the Bristol head office.
The role:
The Technical Services Consultant role encompasses two main activities: Technical Consulting for both on premise and on cloud Clients, and Configuration, Deployment and Technical Monitoring for our Clients in cloud.
Technical Consulting duties will include:
1. Provide technical consultancy to clients and inside the organisation in the deployment and usage of our software
2. Define the technical architecture for the integration of the software within Client and 3rd party strategic partners ecosystems. This includes defining Integration Strategy, completing gaps analysis, interface design, security analysis and software selection
3. Plan, implement and manage data migration activities from client existing systems / applications
4. Define infrastructure architecture for implementation projects on-premise and on SaaS for software, hardware, and network requirements
5. Support Enterprise Architecture in pre-sales activities, for example producing conceptual high-level client solution definitions
6. Participate in implementation projects, owning technical work-streams including liaison with clients on their development and infrastructure activities.
7. Understand and support smooth release delivery and installations for clients
8. Prepare documentation and present solutions to clients
9. Gather and document requirements for system enhancements working alongside the development and delivery teams
10. Develop and maintain technical information and artefacts including continuous improvement to support internal and external needs
11. Deliver standard packaged Monitoring tools to on premise clients
12. Occasional travel to client sites, potentially overseas
Cloud Technical Operations will include:
13. Using the ITCare dashboard and alerts, ensure continuous monitoring along with the cloud team of cloud SaaS Clients, react on alerts and work with the different teams to resolve incidents
14. Anticipate emerging problems by analysing monitoring warnings
15. Participate to the provisioning of the infrastructure for new Clients or when changes for existing Clients are required
16. Deploy and Configure the Company platform and IDHP releases in their cloud environments, using deployment and configuration tools released by the Head of Cloud
17. Deploy and Configure monitoring tools released by the Head of Cloud
18. With the Technical Services Manager, identify the Cloud and On Premise requirements for Configuration, Deployment and Monitoring tools. Define acceptance criteria and approve or reject new releases
19. Work with the different teams to develop repeatable process and tools to facilitate the move of new clients to our cloud offer
20. Flexible over working arrangements out of business hours for overnight or weekend on-call cover
Profile
A natural problem solver, you enjoy investigating, troubleshooting and resolving issues. Ideally your background will be in software development or deployment, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry and principally in Microsoft technologies with experience in:
21. Requirements gathering and ability to document requirements, solutions, and infrastructure architecture design
22. Delivery of SaaS projects including technical infrastructure, environments, networks, security processes and associated compliance / regulation
23. Problem solving skills including experience in diagnosing issues in complex distributed architectures involving hybrid cloud scenarios, messaging systems and APIs.
24. Implementing APIs to provide a service-oriented architecture
25. Installation and configuration of services and applications on Microsoft and or Linux server/network/platforms
26. Data migration
27. System integration design and experience in integrating with 3rd parties
28. Security best practices and understanding of data protection issues
29. Thorough knowledge of database systems, ., SQL Server including T-SQL, Mongo DB
30. Presentation skills – ideally experience of running client workshops
31. Training – 3rd parties, client teams (., infrastructure, developers)
32. Implementing software in complex IT integration landscapes on premise and SaaS.
Ideally you will possess experience in some of the following skills/tools:
33. Rest API's and/or WCF services, working with JSON and SOAP
34. PowerShell
35. Web Server Configuration et. IIS, Nginx
36. Dev-Ops experience around Cloud
37. SQL server script writing
38. Message bus technologies eg. NServiceBus
39. VMware
40. Virtual App and Desktops

Office location and useful info
Our International Division strives to be a non-hierarchical company, with a friendly, can-do culture where challenging work and talent is recognised and rewarded. We employ c.80 employees mostly based out of our office in Bristol, along with some consultants working in locations around the world from home or on client sites. We have recently moved into a brand new office within the Programme building at The Pithay in central Bristol. The office space has been designed and fitted out specifically to our requirements to ensure a highly functional, flexible and comfortable working environment, whether hot-desking, having stand-ups, or more formal/confidential meetings. There’s an NCP car park at the rear of the block and there’s great access to public transport routes with bus stops within a few steps of the building, the train station; Bristol Temple Meads is approx. 10-15 walk. There’s also secure bike storage and excellent showers to freshen up after a bike ride, gym class or run. We’re close to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, gyms and shops as well as being just a short walk from the Castle Park and Harbourside areas. We are a friendly team, with regular social lunch or after-work activities as well as work-related events; town halls or conferences, both in person and online. We have a smart casual dress code.
