As a Sub Agent for Story, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from inception to completion, within the Rail, Water and Energy sector. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors and agencies, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The level of complexity of projects, whether you are managing single or multiple projects across a portfolio, or interfacing with a number of different clients, will determine the level of the role.
You will be predominantly site based but you will be expected to attend one of our northern offices at Normanton (Leeds), York or Middlesbrough to liaise with team and senior management as often as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety: Deliver projects through design and delivery to the highest safety standards ensuring the team are empowered to act and work safely.
* Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
* Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.
* Reporting: Provide regular updates to Project / Senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in site and people management, preferably in the rail or infrastructure sector.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. (Depending of level)
* Proficiency in IT software and tools. E.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Coins, Eco Online, Project etc
* A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
* Relevant professional qualification is desirable, eg Ieng, EngTech
* CRE-C, TWC and TWS experience
* Skilled at developing close relationships, especially with key project influencers.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Extensive experience in commercial management of projects and reporting to Senior Management and Clients.
