PK Education is recruiting a confident and experienced Seclusion Manager to join the Behaviour Unit of a busy secondary school in Northumberland.
This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring the safe, structured and supportive management of students who require short-term internal seclusion as part of the school’s behaviour strategy.
As Seclusion Manager, you will:
Supervise students in the behaviour unit or seclusion room, ensuring safety, dignity, and a structured environment
Support students in completing work set by their class teachers
Maintain accurate records of behaviour, incidents, and interventions
Work closely with the pastoral and safeguarding teams to identify triggers and provide personalised support
Promote positive behaviour and de-escalation techniques
Assist in developing and implementing behaviour strategies for individual pupils
Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children and young people in a school, educational, or care setting
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain authority with fairness and consistency
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Resilience, patience, and the ability to work in challenging situations
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to managing complex behaviour
Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and mental health considerations in schools
