Job Description

Job Summary -

We're looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and proactive individual to take ownership of our digital development roadmap. You’ll work across new features, performance optimization, integrations, and product strategy — all while managing cross-functional projects in an agile environment. This role combines hands-on Shopify development with project leadership, and you'll be the go-to person for everything from code to collaboration.

A Day in the Life of a Shopify Developer and E-commerce Project Manager

● Attend morning stand-up with marketing and operations to align on current tasks and blockers.

● Work on a mix of coding tasks, including theme updates, bug fixes, and new feature rollouts.

● Investigate and resolve performance issues affecting the storefront.

● Plan the next phase of a project involving a third-party app integration or design update.

● Coordinate with internal team members involved in content, design, or operations.

● Review metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

● Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to website management and digital operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

●Shopify Development

● Build and customize Shopify storefronts using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and occasionally PHP.

● Implement and maintain third-party app integrations and custom solutions via Shopify APIs.

● Ensure responsive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences.

● Translate business needs and designs into working, scalable Shopify features.

Project Management

● Lead and coordinate Agile sprints and project workflows from ideation to delivery.

● Manage tasks, milestones, and timelines using tools like Trello, Asana, or Jira.

● Collaborate across departments including marketing, customer support, design, and operations.

● Track progress, identify blockers early, and keep projects running smoothly.

eCommerce Strategy and Performance

● Continuously identify improvements to UX, functionality, and performance.

● Ensure the site is compliant with online pharmacy regulations and eCommerce standards.

● Optional: support campaign development or lifecycle automation via Klaviyo or similar tools.

What Success Looks Like in 6 Months

● You’ve delivered multiple successful digital projects with tangible improvements to user experience and performance.

● Day-to-day operations run smoothly, with fewer bugs, clearer processes, and faster turnaround.

● You’ve become a key voice in shaping our digital roadmap, bringing both technical skill and strategic insight.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

● 3+ years of professional Shopify development experience.

● Strong command of Liquid, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and working knowledge of PHP.

● Proven project management experience using Agile methodologies.

● Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive projects forward.

● Excellent communication and time management skills.

● Must be based in or able to commute to Leicester – this is an in-office role.

Nice-to-Haves

● Familiarity with Klaviyo or similar marketing platforms.

● Understanding of UX design principles for regulated industries.

● Experience with online pharmacy, health tech, or subscription-based eCommerce.

Real Challenges You'll Help Solve

● Managing competing priorities and fast turnarounds across new and existing projects.

● Building scalable, secure features that enhance user confidence and site functionality.

● Implementing creative, compliant digital solutions in a tightly regulated industry.

Our Team and Culture

We’re a small, agile, and driven team who value clear communication, smart decisions, and getting things done without ego.

You’ll have real ownership, and your ideas will help shape our platform as we grow. We work fast, we iterate constantly, and we care deeply about our customers.

Interview Process

1. Phone Interview (30 min) – Introductory call to explore your background and fit.

2. Practical Task (2–4 hours) – A real-world activity to evaluate your Shopify and project thinking.

3. Face-to-Face Interview (60–90 min) – Meet the team in Leicester, walk through your task, and discuss future roadmap vision.

Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

In your cover letter, please include:

● Why you’re interested in working at Yourmedicals.

● A brief example of a Shopify project you've led or developed and your role in it.

● Your experience balancing both technical development and project management responsibilities.

● Any relevant experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or performance optimization. Be clear, concise, and genuine. We value communication as much as technical ability.
