The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Forecasting Analyst to join the supply chain and logistics division of a major global performance improvement partner. This organisation supports large business areas and external clients by ensuring the timely and accurate flow of goods and components through complex supply chains.
Based at the Crewe site, this role is crucial to maintaining operational efficiency. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide specialist forecasting and inventory management resource, focusing on reviewing forecast exceptions and setting optimal inventory levels within both internal and customer Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. You will be a key planner and problem-solver, using data analysis to drive accuracy and improve supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist forecasting and inventory resource to internal business units or external clients as directed.
Ensure the timely and accurate review of forecast exceptions (including RPA, exceptions, and demand) and the correction of any issues.
Set and maintain optimal inventory levels within the core ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP or Customer ERPs).
Apply forecasting and inventory management concepts across both Buy-to-Sell and Manufacturing environments.
Utilise strong analytical skills to analyse large portions of data and translate insights into clear, confidently presented solutions for stakeholders.
Understand, analyse, and propose solutions to complex supply chain and process problems.
Support the business in its commitment to continuously driving operational efficiencies, saving time, cost, and carbon.
The Candidate:
We are seeking a highly analytical, self-motivated individual with proven experience in materials and inventory management within a fast-paced supply chain setting.
Essential Criteria:
Proven Materials Management knowledge and practical experience.
Strong experience in Inventory Forecasting Principles and their application in a commercial environment.
Knowledge and practical experience with ERP/MRP systems, particularly SAP MRP processes and Procurement process knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and correct Forecast exceptions.
Excellent planning and problem-solving skills, with the capability to analyse data and propose effective process solutions.
Ability to communicate and confidently present technical and analytical information at various levels of the business.
Capable in the use of MS Office Suite, or equivalent systems.
Location: Crewe with hybrid working available
