Assistant Head of Employability Hull Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Salary: £38,309 FTE per annum Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period) As our Assistant Head of Employability, you will support the Managing Director in the growth, delivery, and future development of the institute of Employability, as Hull Colleges adult education brand. The post holder will support leadership on cross-cutting themes such as curriculum design, student engagement, progress, assessment, and quality. Hull College provides high-quality education & training for school leavers & adults, offering a wide range of vocational study programmes, Apprenticeships & degrees. Responsibilities of our Assistant Head of Employability: Supporting the Managing Director Phoenix in leading and managing a collection of subject areas, ensuring that high standards of teaching, learning and assessment are maintained. Promote the College’s vision and mission and strategic objectives and to promote behaviours which underpin them. Contribute to the colleges curriculum development process which includes preparing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing new programmes and resources. Monitoring and analysing student data to identify areas for improvement and working with staff to implement interventions and strategies to improve student outcomes. Implementing and monitoring the colleges policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice. Contribute to the quality of learning activities, ensuring that they meet College quality standards and result in improving student success rates. Lead on cross-cutting themes such as student engagement, progression, assessment and IQA processes. Monitoring data to ensure that learners are correctly recorded and claimed in the ILR and their achievement claimed swiftly. Ensure that the institute delivers high performing and quality provision across all income streams, meeting the needs and standards of all our learners and customers. Line managing a small team of staff within the department as required, including carrying out staff appraisals and performance management. Role modelling excellent practice in student management, teaching, learning and assessment. Supporting team members to develop their practice in student management, teaching, learning and assessment. What we’re looking for in our Assistant Head of Employability: Experience of delivering good teaching and leading in further education. Experience of leading on cross-cutting themes such as student engagement, progress, assessment and IQA processes. Communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyse data and use it to drive improvements. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Commitment to continuous professional development.
