Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Third in Charge Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. A Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent qualification is required for this position. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where children can thrive, while working closely with the management team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
Duties
* Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery or childcare facility
* Support staff in delivering high-quality early childhood education programmes
* Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for children and staff
* Engage with children to support their developmental needs through planned activities and play
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing
* Assist in organising staff rotas, training sessions, and administrative tasks
* Drive company policies on safeguarding, inclusion, and behaviour management
Skills
* Proven management and/or leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings
* Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages
* Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or preschool environments
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a professional approach
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to childcare environments
