Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. You can make a difference.
We need someone adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation, including workstreams like Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving reforms in waste management to improve how waste is managed in England, possibly shaping digital systems or policy development.
Our team is dispersed, working with various technical and project teams nationwide. We utilize smart tools for connectivity and travel reduction, though some travel and overnight stays may be necessary.
The Team
You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, leading efforts to reform waste regulations to meet government ambitions for resource conservation and waste minimization.
