Teaching Personnel is inviting Youth Workers who want to expand their skills and take on a Learning Support Assistant role within SEN and SEMH schools starting in September 2025.
About the Role:
* Use your experience engaging young people to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs
* Assist teachers by providing 1:1 or small group support tailored to individual learning and emotional needs
* Help manage behaviour and encourage positive social interaction in the classroom and during activities
* Support pupils with communication, confidence, and life skills development
* Collaborate with school staff to deliver personalised learning plans and interventions
Who we’re looking for:
* Current or previous experience as a Youth Worker, ideally with SEN/SEMH experience or interest
* Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
* Good communication and relationship-building skills
* Able to manage challenging behaviours calmly and positively
* Willing to develop new skills and undertake relevant training
* DBS check or willingness to obtain one
