Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new educational establishment in Ipswich! We cater to up to 30 pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child is valued and empowered. Your Role
As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Determining the strategic development of SEN policy and provision within the school.
* Designing and delivering targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
* Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
* Holding annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Liaising with the Headteacher, Tutors, class teachers, and parents to support individual learning plans.
* Maintaining accurate records and providing support to colleagues in effective teaching and behavior management.
* Coordinating provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities and ensuring effective communication with external agencies.
* Promoting inclusion in the school community and facilitating smooth transitions for pupils.
* Teaching commitment (50/50) with secondary teaching experience, preferably in Science.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Qualified Teacher Status and the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or a willingness to complete the new NPQ for SENCOs).
* Previous experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
* Experience teaching in an autism/SEMH school.
* A sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Conduct.
* A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
