Overview
Blackpool FC Community Trust is the official charity of Blackpool FC. As a registered charity and Club Community Organisation (CCO), we use the power of football to inspire, support and engage our community.
We are now seeking to appoint a part-time Company Secretary to strengthen our governance, compliance and risk management frameworks. Reporting directly to the Chair of Trustees, the postholder will play a vital role in supporting the Board of Trustees, working with the Chief Executive and ensuring we meet our statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
This role may particularly suit a solicitor, experienced executive leader, finance expert or senior governance professional who wishes to apply their legal and governance expertise in a meaningful part-time role within the community and sporting sector. As this is a part time position then it may also suit a recently retired person in any of the above areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with the Charities Act, Companies Act and EFL Trust Capability Code of Practice.
* Maintain statutory records and filings with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
* Organise and oversee Board meetings, the AGM and key Committees
* Manage the Trust’s strategic risk register and compliance framework.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* A background in company/charity law, governance, or compliance.
* Experience as a Company Secretary, lawyer, finance expert, executive leader or governance professional.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Confidence to provide impartial advice at Board level.

* Part-time role: 20 hours per week with flexibility.

* Competitive salary (Scale £55,000 to £60,000 FTE – pro-rated), commencement point dependent on experience. Alternative contractual arrangements (e.g. day rate or consultancy basis) may be considered by agreement.
