Base Hospitals: John Radcliffe Hospital
Work Pattern: Mon - Fri
Accommodation: The post holder is not required to be resident and if hospital accommodation is required then charges will be made.
This post is to back fill the regional rhinology fellow and will be for 12 months starting in August 2026.
Responsibilities
* Inpatient care: Providing medical management for all ENT patients at the John Radcliffe hospital
* Emergency ENT service: Managing referrals internally (from A&E and other wards) and externally (from primary care and referring hospitals); Assessing and managing patients on the GP Referral Unit (acute ENT referrals); 1 in 8 on-call covering the ENT SHO bleep
* Outpatient care: Nasal fracture clinic; General ENT clinics 2 per week; Specialist rhinology clinic 1 per week (One stop Sinusitis / Transcranial Trauma/Combined Airway Clinic)
* Theatres: 2 all day lists per week in rhinology with opportunity to attend joint cases at other times with ophthalmology/plastics/neurosurgery; Shared with SpR and expected teaching
Education and Training
Opportunities to be involved in: Departmental teaching sessions; Clinical Governance meetings; Audit, Research and Quality Improvement; Support to participate in projects within the department.
General
The post-holder will assume a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of his/her department.
