Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Decommissioning team, part of the Nuclear & Power Division. You will deliver excellence for our client’s teams across significant atomic projects, keeping world decommissioning sustainable and safe. Responsibilities
* Lead and support colleagues from across the Decommissioning business (pan-discipline) to enhance a progressive and sustainable commercial team.
* Manage and coordinate ~£75m p/a of contractual spend across multiple contract types, including coordination and reporting of pan-organisational information (e.g., Defined Cost, Disallowed Cost, cost covered by Fee, invoicing and timesheets) with client-facing and subcontractor-facing activities.
* Develop and implement world-leading 'work-smart' tools to automate and enhance performance, including potential implementation/testing/utilisation of Artificial Intelligence, Process Automation and Zero-Time-Input delivery mechanisms.
* Demonstrate commercial and collaborative leadership across Clients and Supply Chain Partners (notably Sellafield Limited, Springfields Fuels Limited, Nuclear Restoration Services, NDA and UK National Nuclear Laboratories) with a focus on improving NEC4 contract delivery and managing bespoke terms and conditions.
* Manage client commercial interfaces including Early Warnings, Variations (Compensation Events / Loss & Expense) and risk/issue management with escalation where beneficial.
* Coordinate procurement delivery, including proposing strategies, tendering, negotiation and implementation of key Agreements across the AtkinsRéalis Supply Chain (strong focus on SMEs).
* Contribute to guiding the Social Value agenda of Decommissioning from a Commercial perspective.
* Support upward and downward facing performance incentivisation to optimise client satisfaction and increase margin through effective delivery of savings and collaborative practices.
* Support development of an integrated commercial team by working with Project Management and Project Controls throughout the full project, programme and portfolio lifecycle.
What You Can Bring
* Focused contractual knowledge with experience managing contractual processes (NEC3 and/or NEC4 experience preferable).
* Buying capability (procurement processes, authoring and implementing viable procurement and contracting strategies).
* Demonstration of proactive collaborative behaviours (ISO44001:2017 awareness considered beneficial).
* Experience using online contract and commercial management portals (e.g., CEMAR, Asite, EuroDyn, BravoSolutions).
* Knowledge and understanding of risk management, with emphasis on Commercial Risk and risk treatment strategies.
* Understanding and experience in optimising contract options (NEC ECC vs PSC vs TSC vs SC; JCT / FIDIC / equivalent also considered positive).
* Knowledge and capability to conduct basic evaluation and testing of construction/demolition programmes from a Commercial perspective.
* Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management (or equivalent) degree.
* Working towards Chartered Professional Status desirable (MRICS, MCIPS or equivalent).
