Applicants can apply to undertake the role in addition to existing PAs, or if the role is to replace existing PAs, the candidate must have the approval by the time of interview from their Clinical Director. While there will need to be flexibility in terms of when the PAs are worked, it is expected that this work should be predominantly carried out within office hours, between Monday and Friday. The appointment process will be the responsibility of NES Medical Directorate. The management of the SAS Education Adviser will be the responsibility of the SAS Associate Postgraduate Dean. The post will be on a fixed term basis for approximately 3 years, until 31st March 2029 in the first instance. If you are interested in this vacancy and would like further information, please refer to the Information Pack which includes a copy of the Job Description, Person Specification and Conditions of Service. Unless otherwise stated the deadline for applications is 23:59hrs on the closing date. Closing date: 08/02/2026 Interview date: 26/02/2026 You must have eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK which is required to be maintained throughout your period of employment. Evidence of this must be produced upon request. We actively encourage applicants from a range of backgrounds, regardless of gender, age, disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or belief. https://www.careers.nhs.scot/about/who-we-are/ To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here. For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here. It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form. If you have any queries regarding the NHS Scotland National Recruitment Portal or the recruitment process, please don't hesitate to contact our recruitment partners, the East Region Recruitment Service, at: EoS.ERRS@nhs.scot
