Overview
Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity to develop experience in pelvic health physiotherapy. The post is for up to 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility for negotiation of hours. We would consider applications from those with well-developed specialist skills and those keen to develop towards a specialist role.
This role delivers physiotherapy interventions to prevent, identify and manage pelvic health problems during the peri-natal period and to widen access to pelvic health services. The post will also encompass all aspects of pelvic, obstetric and gynaecology physiotherapy to develop a broad range of specialist clinical skills. This includes perinatal group education, obstetric inpatients, management of obstetric MSK patients, women’s and men’s pelvic floor dysfunction, and breast care.
Main duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities include working with perinatal midwives, receiving support and mentorship from senior POGP team members, participating in regular preceptorship/clinical supervision and in-service training. There is network and peer support across the Cheshire and Mersey region as part of the perinatal project. The team is part of the wider MDT and works closely with colorectal and urogynaecology consultants, and with the midwifery service and breast care team.
The POGP team delivers outpatient services in multiple locations including Tarporley, Ellesmere Port, Chester city centre and on the Countess of Chester Hospital site, so travel is an integral part of this role.
