Job Title: Qualified Residential Support Worker / Driver

Rate: From £13- £14 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Varied shifts (including weekends, nights, sleep-ins, bank holidays)

We’re currently recruiting Qualified Residential Support Workers / Drivers to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people in safe, nurturing home environments. You’ll work with residential care providers who prioritise each young person’s wellbeing, independence, and long-term success.
Role Summary
As a Qualified Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred, therapeutic support in a residential setting. This role requires you to hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, along with a full UK driving licence, as transport of young people may be required.
You’ll be part of a dedicated team creating safe, stable, and caring homes where children and young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, high-quality care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care and support plans
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive home environment at all times
Support with day-to-day routines including personal care, household tasks, meal prep, and school/appointment attendance
Drive young people to appointments, family contact, activities, and other commitments as needed
Foster positive, trusting relationships and promote emotional wellbeing and independence
Accurately record observations, incidents, and progress, and contribute to team meetings and handovers
Uphold safeguarding principles, and adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Work flexible shifts including sleep-ins, weekends, and nights
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People or equivalent) – Required
Full UK driving licence – Required
Previous experience working in a children’s residential care setting
Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and child development
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
Resilience and emotional maturity to manage challenging behaviours and situations
Commitment to trauma-informed, therapeutic approaches to care
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
24/7 residential environment – shifts may include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and sleep-ins
Driving duties required as part of the role
Emotionally and physically demanding but highly rewarding
Flexibility essential – occasional short notice cover may be required
