We're looking for the very best Data Management Leader to help a wonderful organisation deliver on its' exciting growth strategy.
Bring structure, clarity and impact to this business building its data future.
The organisation is on a mission to transform how it manages and uses its data — from reactive fixes to structured, strategic enablement.
As Data Management Lead, you’ll take a central role in building the frameworks, processes and relationships that will shape the future of data governance in this, one of the UK’s successful tech businesses.
This is a brand-new role. One that sits at the heart of the organisation's transformation agenda — as it replaces its core business systems and brings a digital broom to its operating model. And as such, you have the opportunity and the freedom to shape it.
The role - Please not this role could be based In Leeds, Manchester or the HQ near High Wycombe in Bucks.
It's fair to say the business is at the foundation-building stage of its data maturity journey: tackling quality issues, investing in a modern data platform, and laying the groundwork for better master data management (MDM) across key domains like customers, products and people.
You’ll be the one to help us pull it all together.
Working closely with the Head of Data Strategy, and supported by an Exec sponsor, you’ll turn vision into action: implementing a data governance framework that’s fit for purpose, rolling out standards and training across the business, and embedding the structures the business needs to make data a true business asset — not a bottleneck.
It’s hands-on. It’s strategic. It’s people-facing. And it’s urgent.
What you’ll be doing
* Own the rollout/implementation of data governance framework (people, processes, tech)
* Help define and deliver the MDM strategy, focusing initially on customer and product data
* Turn data strategy into operational delivery: partnering with IT, business teams and data SMEs
* Champion data quality improvements using the data quality dashboard and relevant metrics
* Support stakeholder education and engagement: from SLT briefings to business user training
* Build foundations of a data organisation: data stewards, data champions, ownership models
* Contribute to major programmes including CRM, PIM and HR system transformation projects
* Drive cultural change and improve data literacy across the business
What we’re looking for
* Strong grasp of GDPR and data compliance standards
* Confident communicator who can translate technical challenges into business outcomes
* Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
* Proactive, personable and able to win hearts and minds at all levels of the organisation
* Driven to build something — and resilient enough to navigate ambiguity and change
Why now?
Data is under pressure at this organisation - the appetite for change has never been greater. With new platforms on the way and growing demands from sales, finance, product and IT, the organisation needs structure, clarity and consistency. This role is a critical step in that journey.
You’ll be given the trust, support and headroom to succeed. And while the role is demanding, it comes with visible impact and significantly sponsorship. Help this organisation stop firefighting and start building.
