Consultant Anaesthetist – Paediatric Anaesthesia

Role Overview
This is a whole time equivalent post with 8 direct clinical care programmed activities and 2 supporting professional activities, offering sessions in both adult and paediatric practice. Candidates will contribute to the paediatric anaesthesia on‑call out‑of‑hours rota with an on‑call frequency of up to 1 in 8.5, with prospective cover on a non‑resident basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical anaesthesia care for paediatric and adult cases.
* Participate in scheduled operating sessions.
* Manage on‑call rota duties with an average frequency of 1 in 8.5.
* Engage in supporting professional activities such as teaching, audits, and quality improvement.
Qualifications
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence in place before starting).
* UK higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration awarded to apply for a substantive Consultant post.
* Relevant paediatric anaesthesia experience / special interest.
Working Arrangements
* Full time equivalent (FTE), with potential for less‑than‑full‑time arrangements such as annualised job plans and job sharing.
* Opportunities for locum Consultant roles for up to 12 months for candidates not on the GMC Specialist Register.
