About the Role
We are currently looking for a HSE Advisor – South to join us at Chippenham. This role focuses on leading Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) initiatives across the site and surroundings.
Responsibilities
* Lead, train, coach, and support site staff in Health, Safety and Environmental improvement.
* Ensure the company’s HSE policies are implemented consistently.
* Monitor, evaluate, and review HSE policies, practice, and legal compliance; recommend and implement new policies and procedures as required.
* Advise senior management on the implications of current and emerging HSE legislation, evaluate options for implementation, and generate action plans to ensure compliance across the organisation.
* Support managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support.
* Conduct audits, evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems and procedures, and identify and implement improvements where necessary.
* Manage and maintain accurate reporting of HSE leading and lagging performance indicators, providing dashboard reports as required.
* Proactively identify and present HSE improvement opportunities at the site, territory, and business unit levels.
* Share best practices with other HSE team members across the organisation.
* Investigate accidents and events, assist in determining causes, and support actions to prevent recurrence, including issuing notifications to the Health & Safety Executive where required.
Qualifications
* Leading the HSE agenda by example.
* Willingness to stand out and convince others of the business case underlying HSE improvements.
* Strong planning, prioritising and organisational skills to manage own workload.
* Knowledge and proven history of delivering health, safety and environmental management systems and providing advice.
* Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
* Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
* Effective team‑working and networking skills, and the ability to work independently using own initiative.
* Personal commitment to Wavin’s corporate values and a culture of continuous improvement.
* Willingness to travel across the region.
* Working knowledge of current HSE legislation and its application in a manufacturing environment.
* Desirable: Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
* Desirable: Continuous Improvement knowledge and training (Green Belt level).
